Former Bazaarvoice executive joins leading retail customer intelligence platform
INDIANAPOLIS (March 10, 2015) — SmarterHQ, the leading provider of customer intelligence for cross-channel retailers, today announces Ryan Cush as vice president of client services.
Cush comes to SmarterHQ bringing more than 15 years of experience in client relations and leadership roles. Cush previously served in a variety of executive roles at Bazaarvoice (NASDAQ: BV) where he gained experience running the North American client success team and agency partnership program. He scaled the client services team to serve more than 1,000 clients and aided the company’s public offering in 2012. As vice president of client success, Cush drove significant improvements in client retention while increasing upsell rates and reducing costs. Most recently, Cush led business development for consumer startup Food on the Table, which was acquired by the popular Scripps Networks Interactive (NASDAQ: SNI).
“I wanted to join SmarterHQ to work with an incredibly smart and passionate team, and because I believe in the company’s vision,” said Cush. “With the early success of the new SmarterHQ platform, I can tell we’ve tapped into something that creates tremendous value and drives revenue for clients. I’m looking forward to taking on this role with SmarterHQ at such an exciting time in the growth of the company.”
In his new role, Cush will oversee SmarterHQ’s client services team, which handles implementation, campaign services, client success and support. He also will be working alongside the SmarterHQ sales team to grow the company’s existing client base and services. Cush will be working from Austin, Texas.
“I’ve had the luxury of working with Ryan for many years and we are thrilled to bring on an experienced leader like Ryan during a pivotal point for the company,” said Michael Osborne, CEO of SmarterHQ. “His ability to scale his team while developing deep relationships with clients fits perfectly with our goals. He will be a vital asset to the team as we continue to roll out the new SmarterHQ platform.”
SmarterHQ works with some of the nation’s largest retail brands, including Eddie Bauer, Bloomingdale’s, Finish Line and eBags, among many others. The news of Cush’s appointment follows the announcement of SmarterHQ’s new platform, which empowers retailers to unite customer data with online and offline sales and marketing channels.
